Delete your account or your data
WitchCatcher for Android and iPhone · Streaming Rat Solutions LLC
You can delete your WitchCatcher account and everything stored with it at any time, or remove individual pieces of your data and keep the account. Deleting is permanent — we can't put an account or a deleted visit back afterwards.
In the app — fastest
If you can still sign in, delete the account yourself and it happens straight away:
- Open WitchCatcher and sign in.
- Open the menu in the top corner and choose Account.
- Choose Delete Account and confirm with your password.
You're asked for your password because Apple and Google require a recent sign-in before an account can be deleted.
By request — no app needed
Lost the phone, forgotten the password, or already uninstalled? Email us from the address on the account and we'll delete it for you.
Request account deletionOr write to support@streamingrat.com yourself. We reply to confirm, and complete the deletion within 30 days of the request — usually the same week.
Delete only some of your data
You don't have to close the account to remove things from it.
- Your visits. Open My Visits from the menu, choose a visit, and pick Delete Visit. That removes the visit and the notes you wrote on it straight away. Delete as many as you like.
- Your username. Change it under Account. The old handle is released and your new one replaces it everywhere, including past leaderboards.
- Anything else. Email us and say what you'd like removed.
One thing we can't remove piece by piece: your witch hat count is a single running total for each day, week, month, and year, not a list of taps, so there are no individual entries to delete. Counts go when the account does.
What deleting your account removes
- Your sign-in account and email address
- Your username, which is released for anyone else to claim
- Your witch hat counts and every leaderboard placing, in every period
- All of your check-ins at stores and events, including your notes
Deletion is immediate and complete — every record above is removed from our database, not flagged as hidden.
What is kept, and for how long
- Nothing of yours is kept by us. We run no backups of the database and no point-in-time recovery, so there is no copy to restore you from.
- Up to one hour, inside the database. Google Cloud Firestore keeps earlier versions of a record for one hour as part of normal operation. Your data is unreachable from that moment on and ages out automatically.
- Your email to us, if you wrote one. A deletion request you send by email stays in our support mailbox for up to 12 months, as proof we acted on it. Ask us in the same message and we'll delete that too once it's done.
Counts you made as a guest, without an account, were only ever stored on your own phone — deleting the app removes them, and we never had a copy.
